I hope this will have a lasting impact on The Titusville Academy and its students — maybe they can use the river as part of an outdoor classroom.
The Titusville Academy got some extra attention this winter when 18-year-old Ian Green, a senior at Hopewell Valley Central High School, dedicated his Eagle Scout project to improving the school grounds.
The Titusville Academy, located in a historic brick school building overlooking the Delaware River, needed repairs on the handrails and deck across from the school leading down to the river.
“We were honored that Ian chose to commit his Eagle Scout project to The Titusville Academy,” said Deborah R. Zerbib, Executive Director of the school. “The Hopewell Valley community has been a wonderful supporter of the work we do here, and now Ian is part of that tradition.”
“I really enjoy being able to make a difference for the students of Titusville and give them the opportunity to go safely to the river bed,” said Green. “I hope this will have a lasting impact on The Titusville Academy and its students—maybe they can use the river as part of an outdoor classroom.”
